Engineering Technician
Schnabel Engineering is an employee-owned, professional engineering and consulting firm specializing in geotechnical, geostructural, tunnel, and dam engineering. They are seeking an Engineering Technician for their Newport News, VA office to perform field observation and testing during construction material placement and conduct soil and concrete laboratory testing.

Responsibilities
Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing
Soil and concrete laboratory testing
Qualification
Required
High School degree
Valid Driver's License
Possess good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills
Able to perform rudimentary mathematic computations
Attentive to detail
Interest in working outdoors on construction sites
Candidates must be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds on an occasional basis and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outside
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history and motor vehicle record
Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening
Preferred
Construction experience is preferred but not required
