Responsibilities

Prepare and file individual tax returns (1040 series) and amended returns daily, tackling a high-volume mix of cases from moderate to advanced complexity

Excel at sophisticated individual returns, including multi-state filings, self-employment income (Schedule C), rental properties (Schedule E), and itemized deductions

Optimize every return to unlock maximum deductions, credits, and refunds while ensuring ironclad compliance

Conduct in-depth financial analysis and tax research to spot major savings opportunities and resolve tricky compliance issues

Deliver clear, confident guidance to clients on tax strategies, rules, and outcomes

Stay ahead of evolving federal, state, and local tax changes and apply them directly to client work

Required

1+ years of proven experience preparing individual tax returns, with regular hands-on work on amended returns and varying complexity (multi-state, self-employment, rentals, itemized deductions, etc.)

Solid command of individual tax topics, schedules, and advanced scenarios

Proficiency in accounting/tax software (ProSeries is a plus!)

Sharp analytical mindset and laser-focused attention to detail

Thrives under pressure with excellent deadline management during busy seasons

Strong communication skills to break down complex tax info for clients

Enthusiasm for building client relationships and supporting sales/retention

Active CTEC certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) license, valid PTIN, and current CTEC registration
