Quality Assurance Engineer

They are seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring product and process quality through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems in a plastic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Lead quality planning and validation activities for new and existing plastic components and assemblies
Develop and maintain quality documentation such as Control Plans, FMEAs, PPAPs, and process capability studies
Analyze production data and implement statistical process control (SPC) to ensure consistent product performance
Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve non-conformances
Interface with customers regarding quality concerns, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant standards)
Collaborate with engineering and production to improve process capability, reduce scrap, and increase yield
Manage supplier quality, including incoming inspection, supplier audits, and corrective action requests
Provide technical support and training to production and inspection teams on quality standards and methods
Utilize measurement systems such as CMMs, vision systems, and other inspection tools to verify part conformance
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in plastic injection molding or plastics manufacturing
Experience with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality management systems
Proven track record in process validation, capability analysis, and quality improvement initiatives
Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, 8D, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, DOE)
Proficiency with measurement equipment and metrology principles
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality software (e.g., Minitab, QualityXpert, or similar)
Ability to stand and move around the production floor for extended periods
Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
Use of hands and eyes for inspection and measurement tasks
Primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and plastic processing operations
Regular interaction with production, engineering, and customer service departments
