Responsibilities
Prepares and processes annual statements for mailing
Ensures annual and timely WCAD monthly changes to the tax roll; reviews all changes individually to ensure that values and exemptions are correct
Prepares and sends statements for WCAD changes to the tax roll
Prepares rollback taxes
Prepares refund requests
Prepares refund checks for Laredo Community College
Trains employees in system upgrades and in processing tax roll changes
Prepares delinquent tax statements
Completes a variety of forms for taxpayers
Processes property tax transactions
Provides information to the public as requested
Maintains accurate accounting of all cash and check transactions to properly balance the cash box
Processes motor vehicle registration renewals
Performs any other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Must have one (1) year of relevant experience
Must be able to type 30 words per minute
Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures
Knowledge of the property tax code
Knowledge of motor vehicle registration laws
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports
Skill in oral and written communication
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language
Valid Texas Driver's License
