Facilities and Maintenance Manager

Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance and Facility Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of all equipment, machinery, and facilities at their manufacturing plant. Responsibilities

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all CNC and production machines to minimize downtime
Supervise & manage the need to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues with CNC machines
Coordinate with machine vendors or service providers as needed to support machine uptime
Oversee maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment, auxiliary systems, and tools
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and ensure all work complies with OEM specifications and safety standards
Evaluate and implement upgrades or modifications to improve productivity and machine performance
Implement and maintain site wide CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
Manage inventory of critical spare parts and supplies to ensure minimal disruption to operations
Source and negotiate with vendors for cost-effective procurement of parts and services
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or facility emergencies and resolve issues to minimize production impact
Oversee building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting, ensuring they are in proper working order
Schedule and manage inspections, certifications, and maintenance for all facility systems
Ensure uninterrupted operation of critical utilities to support production demands
Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, and other regulatory standards for equipment and facilities
Collaborate with the safety team to identify and address potential hazards
Support security compliance and physical Security systems
Coordinate with external contractors for facility repairs, cleaning, landscaping, snow management and waste
Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality and adherence to timelines & cost effectiveness
Maintain the facilities & maintenance budget year to year which includes extensive use of the indirect purchasing system
Assist with cost tracking initiatives and look for any cost savings where possible

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in management roles, ideally in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of CNC machinery operation, maintenance, and repair processes
Ability to pass Security Clearance as needed for the role
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and maintenance planning tools
Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA and other safety regulations
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage a team and collaborate across departments
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and blueprints
This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
