SanMar is seeking a Facilities II to support daily DC operations and ensure a safe and clean environment. The role involves performing general maintenance tasks, assisting with preventive maintenance, and responding to facility-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance or carpentry, minor repairs, and routine painting
Assist with preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts
Relocate, move, and adjust furniture as needed
Respond in a professional and timely manner to management and internal customer inquiries and researches and resolves problems related to a facility’s operational issues
Comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements; maintain all required HAZMAT records including maintenance
Interact with outsourced building services including janitorial, document shredding, garbage collection, window cleaning, grounds keeping, and furniture repair
May be required to operate powered lift equipment
Maintain repair and maintenance log
Sanitary maintenance as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Comply with all policies and standards

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of facility maintenance experience is required to include most of the duties and responsibilities as listed above and use of hand and power tools
Excellent organization, ability to prioritize daily responsibilities
Knowledge of facilities maintenance and custodial principles, procedures, and standards
Self-motivator; needs to take initiative
Able to work both independently and within a team
Demonstrates ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require; support or rotate to other production functions as needed
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Responsive to staff needs, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and consideration of others always
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Responsible for checking out equipment and returning in same condition
Overtime as required, which may include weekends

Preferred

Experience operating warehouse equipment is preferred
May be required to complete and maintain SanMar's Lift Operator Certification in compliance with OSHA guidelines
