Operations Test Engineer
Bedrock Robotics is a company focused on advancing autonomous technology in the construction industry. They are seeking an Operations Test Engineer to lead field test deployments and ensure safe operation of autonomous machines while managing technical documentation and validation processes.

Responsibilities
Lead and execute STO (Safe Test Operation) tests and ATO (Automated Test Operation) procedures for autonomous platforms
Set up and coordinate STO activities across multiple test sites and environments
Develop and implement operator and technician onboarding and certification programs tailored for autonomous vehicles and robotics
Manage operational safety guidelines by machine type, ensuring compliance with industry safety and validation standards
Collaborate with Software, Machine Learning, and Hardware Engineering teams to:
Bring up new autonomous machines
Validate firmware/software integrations and autonomy stack updates
Ensure retrofits, upfits, and sensor packages remain in optimal working condition
Contribute to technical areas such as:
Assisting with software deployments, including running Linux commands to start/stop services, check logs, and verify system status
Supporting test automation workflows (no direct coding required)
Using tools like GitHub, Foxglove, Axiom, Notion, Linear, and Fleetio
Network debugging, connectivity setup, and teleoperation support
Ensure field data quality management, traceability standards, and sensor calibration procedures are upheld
Maintain operational readiness across all autonomous testing environments
Qualification
Required
Experience in field testing, validation, or related engineering functions for autonomous systems, robotics, or advanced machinery
Ability to perform both hands-on technical work and cross-team collaboration in high-tempo test environments
Strong understanding of safety standards, fail-safes, and operational procedures for autonomous platforms
Familiarity with network configuration, system integration, and hardware/software troubleshooting
Proficiency or willingness to learn tools such as Foxglove, Axiom, Notion, Linear, and Fleetio
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred
Previous experience with autonomy stacks, sensor fusion, or perception pipelines
Background in firmware/software integration and validation for autonomous vehicles or robotics
Knowledge of data traceability standards, simulation workflows, and field data collection best practices
