Technologist/Engineer Contract Position
Tokyo Electron America Inc., a subsidiary of Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL), is a leader in the semiconductor equipment industry. They are seeking a Technologist/Engineer to develop new components, technologies, and methodologies while working on hardware components and software algorithms in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Responsibilities
Engage with mechanical and electrical engineers in the design of prototype components and assemblies for TEL’s semiconductor process chambers
Occasional use of CAD/CAE tools to edit or modify models
Procure parts, assemble, calibrate and evaluate prototype hardware
Propose and execute design of experiments (DOE); collect and analyze data
Use basic programming skills to automate data logging and post processing and/or facilitate the integration of independent systems, controllers, sensors, etc
Use simulation data to troubleshoot and/or optimize hardware
Author necessary system level documentation, generate technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions and create presentations for internal review
Acquire through training or continuing education the required skills as assigned responsibilities and duties evolve
Possible domestic and/or international travel to Japan or Europe
Qualification
Required
A BS/MS/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or other Science/Engineering field
Demonstrated hands-on hardware experience through internships, graduate degree and/or previous employment. Post graduate professional work experience is not required but will be given appropriate consideration
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills; data analysis, programming abilities
Proven self-directed quick learner with a strong work ethic. Successful completion of technical challenges, especially where the acquisition of new skills was essential
Prioritizing, planning, and organizational skills. Resourceful use of time, respect for schedules and deadlines
Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Execute on assigned tasks in an independent, timely manner, not reliant on continuous supervision
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
