SAP Solutions Architect (WM/PP)

BrainWorks is currently seeking a SAP Solutions Architect for a full-time, fully remote role supporting a manufacturing organization following a recent acquisition. This position focuses on solution architecture, integration design, and functional ownership across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary SAP functional owner for Production Planning (PP) within a manufacturing environment
Lead SAP solution design supporting production execution, shop floor operations, and manufacturing workflows
Design and oversee SAP integration across PP and WM, ensuring alignment between production, inventory, and warehouse operations
Support SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments, including integration and transition scenarios
Translate manufacturing business requirements into practical, scalable SAP solutions
Partner directly with business stakeholders and IT leadership to support production and operational needs
Provide functional guidance to offshore or downstream teams while retaining architectural ownership
Support cutover, go-live, and stabilization efforts for planned deployments
Clearly communicate SAP design decisions, trade-offs, and impacts to technical and non-technical audiences

Qualification

Required

8–10 years of SAP functional experience in manufacturing environments
Strong, hands-on SAP PP experience (required)
Working experience with SAP WM in support of production and inventory flows
Solid foundation in SAP MM within manufacturing contexts
Experience supporting SAP ECC (ECC6 / EHP6 / E62) environments
Exposure to S/4HANA, particularly in integration, coexistence, or transition scenarios
Proven ability to operate independently as a functional SAP owner
Experience working directly with U.S.-based business teams
Strong communication skills with a practical, execution-oriented mindset
Willingness to travel approximately 20%

Preferred

Additional exposure to SD (not a primary focus of the role)
Experience supporting multi-plant or multi-entity manufacturing environments
Prior experience working with offshore SAP delivery teams
Background in heavy manufacturing, engineered products, or industrial environments
