Senior Attorney
Berliner Cohen, LLP is seeking a Senior Attorney for their Employment Department with a minimum of 5+ years of labor law and employment litigation experience. The role involves managing cases independently, counseling clients on wage and hour laws, and litigating various employment-related matters in California courts.
Responsibilities
Work independently and manage a case from beginning to end with little direction and oversight
Take depositions and handle hearings
Be lead counsel on cases
Counsel clients on all aspects of wage and hour laws
Litigate wage and hour cases, class action cases, and employment discrimination and wrongful termination matters in California state and federal courts
Respond to administrative charges
Be familiar with wage laws, leave, and compliance matters (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FLSA and Ca Labor Codes)
Develop policies and provide compliance training
Manage pre-litigation disputes
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5+ years of labor law and employment litigation experience
Ability to work independently and manage a case from beginning to end with little direction and oversight
Experience taking depositions
Experience handling hearings
Experience as lead counsel on a case
Experience counseling clients on all aspects of wage and hour laws
Experience litigating wage and hour cases, class action cases, employment discrimination and wrongful termination matters in California state and federal courts
Experience responding to administrative charges
Familiarity with wage laws, leave, and compliance matters (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FLSA and Ca Labor Codes)
Experience in policy development and compliance training
Experience managing pre-litigation disputes
Strong academic background
Proven track record of strong performance and measurable results

Ability to appear in court
Ability to travel for depositions and related litigation appearances
