Responsibilities

Inspect incoming materials, per the established sampling plan procedure, using mechanical and visual methods in accordance with specifications and inspection checklists

Approve or reject incoming items based on conformance to drawings, tolerances, and quality standards; tag non-conforming parts and initiate corrective actions (NCRs)

Measure dimensions using calibrated tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge pins

Document inspection results, maintain inspection logs, and record all data in reports or quality databases

Calibrate and maintain measuring instruments, ensuring their accuracy and reliability

Collaborate internally, providing feedback to production teams, raising quality alerts, and suggesting continuous process improvements

Interface with suppliers, including on-site inspections, to verify compliance and resolve issues

Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards (e.g., GMP, ISO, MRP/ERP systems)

Support additional quality initiatives such as root-cause investigations, CARs, and audits as needed

Maintains a variety of records related to quality control such as inspection reports, SPC system, control logs, key performance indicators, etc

Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Keep the work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion

Other tasks, projects, and assignments as needed

Required

Experience in quality control, quality assurance, or adherence to policies and procedures that provide checks and balances within production processes

Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and time management skills

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Thoroughly document and keep track of work in a neat and organized matter

Flexibility to provide support to production as needed

Collaborative teamwork

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment commensurate with workload

Proficient in Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP software

Experience following standards like ANSI Z1.4 for sampling inspection

High school diploma or equivalent

3-5 years in a QC or inspection role, preferably in incoming inspection

Comfortable reading and interpreting documents, drawings and specifications

Experience in reviewing packaging, including copy and color

Experience in proofreading copy

Communication proficiency: ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels as needed both verbal and in writing

Strong math skills, including algebra

Complex problem-solving skills

Familiarity with complex mathematical concepts

Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

Strong time management skills

Effective and efficient organizational skills

Self-motivated, precise, and able to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments

Preferred

Experience using calipers, scales, and hand micrometers is a plus

Relevant manufacturing experience is a plus

Forklift certification a plus
