AVP Service & Logistics Center Operations
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is dedicated to advancing pediatric care and is seeking an AVP for Service & Logistics Center Operations. This role involves leading and directing operational aspects of non-clinical support services, developing strategic plans, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while fostering patient safety and innovation.

Responsibilities
Develops the strategic plan for the functions for the Supply Chain (SC) Logistics department, in collaboration with SC Executive Leadership and the Supply Chain Steering Committee
Keeps abreast of industry best practices related to healthcare SC
Develops strategy for SLC to optimize CHOP’s asset, identifies need for expansion of services, expansion of space, new business opportunities
Communicates the vision and priorities of the department within SC and to stakeholders
Establishes metrics and goals to track progress of annual initiatives
Serves as the Supply Chain Safety leader
Facilitates development and achievement of professional and personal goals for supply chain staff and self
Establishes and implements supply chain best practices
Effectively recruits, orients, develop and retain a talented and diverse workforce in supply chain
Establishes, cultivates, and maintains professional relationships with CHOP executives and leaders
Direct, supervise and collaborate with various administrative leaders for SLC departments, in direct and matrix relationships
Partners with Human Resources to ensure all correct interpretation/implementation and application of Hospital Policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement

Responsible for forecasting, developing, and managing SC Logistics budget for all areas of targeted expense
Provide overall direction and management of the scope, timing, budget, and delivery of services for the Services and Logistics Center
Drive and oversee optimization of the operations and financial performance of the Logistics operations across the CHOP enterprise
Responsible for driving operational excellence across the Logistics Team; materials distribution, inventory management, line and mailroom services and patient equipment/sleep surfaces
Assures compliance from all team members and supplies to CHOP policies and procedures
Directs and manages the 3rd party supplier relationship for material distribution
Manages other 3rd party supplier relationship for SC suppliers provides services within the SLC, including Warehouse Management System, trucking service, warehouse mechanical suppliers
Collaborates with Facilities and Real Estate management to maintain SLC building operations and grounds
Sponsors and directs continuous improvement projects; removes barriers and drives for progress
Lead and/or participate in appropriate meetings including governance, program/project executive sponsors, steering committees and other targeted committees, etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain, Finance, Business or similar field of study
At least ten (10) years Progressive operational management responsibility in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field, preferably in a hospital and/or healthcare environment
At least five (5) years Previous experience in Lean Methodologies or Process Improvement Framework experience in a leadership role
Experience with managing 3rd party relationships to achieve operational excellence
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Business Intelligence software capabilities
Possesses excellent communication skills at multiple levels of the enterprise. Ability to prepare and present presentations and financial analysis to senior leaders
Able to motivate and facilitate teams to successful resolution of challenging issues
Project management skills, knowledge, and experience. Ability to effectively interact and collaborate successfully with people of all levels
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills; detail oriented and hands-on performer. Experience leading cross functional teams in complex activities across departmental and entity boundaries
Develop and promote creative and critical thinking to develop compelling and innovative strategies
Change management expertise – black belt or similar certification preferred
Ability to establish and maintain a high level of stakeholder trust and confidence
Ability to delegate, monitor, and direct work effort and requirements
Ability to work under pressure, with ambiguity and multi-task with composure and resilience
Preferred
Master's Degree Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or similar field of study
Deep understanding of healthcare or logistics operations. Preferred experience SC technology, contract development, content management, supplier enablement, ERP applications, reporting & analytics. Sterile processing operations knowledge would be beneficial
Knowledge of healthcare GPOs operations
Knowledge of Value Analysis process in a healthcare environment
Project Management Certification (PMP) - Project Management Institute (PMI)
Certified Procurement Management (CPM) - American Healthcare Materials Management Association
