Assistant General Counsel - BSC FERC (Hybrid)

Exelon is leading the energy transformation and is seeking an experienced energy regulatory attorney to represent the company before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The Assistant General Counsel will focus on electric regulatory issues and provide legal counsel on significant legal and policy matters.

Responsibilities

Performs as a specialist in federal energy regulatory law (FERC electric and gas), providing legal counsel to Exelon and its Business Units
Under little or no supervision, plans, and conducts legal assignments; evaluates legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly; and represents Exelon in regulatory proceedings, transactions, litigation, settlements and other relevant matters
Represents Exelon in agency proceedings and/or relevant litigation
Interprets and applies organization policy according to law and regulations
Prepares, and revises as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel

Required

An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions
At least 7-10 years of professional experience with a focus on FERC regulatory matters
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments
Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and on ongoing knowledge of federal or state law
Must have the ability to communicate clearly - both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines

Preferred

Experience in federal energy regulatory law, with a focus on electric utilities, including current knowledge of legal developments and trends in this area
