The Digital Journalist will be responsible for producing daily web content, including written stories and videos, while also developing and pitching original local news stories and responding to breaking news assignments.

Responsibilities

Develop, research, and pitch original, compelling, and relevant daily local news stories

Respond immediately to breaking news assignments and adapt quickly to changing editorial priorities

Function as a one-person band by operating professional video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to gather high-quality visual and sound elements

Conduct professional, concise, and informative interviews

Write scripts for news packages, voice-overs, and teases in clear, conversational broadcast style, adhering to strict time limits

Perform non-linear editing of video and audio elements to create visually engaging and coherent news reports

Write compelling, Search Engine Optimized (SEO) headlines and summary text for all published video streams and stories to maximize online visibility and traffic

Verify the accuracy of all facts, names, and information before air

Adhere strictly to journalistic ethics, libel laws, and station standards and policies
