Responsibilities
Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth
Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development
Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students
Monitor and document student behaviors and activities
Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities
Work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan
Qualification
Required
Be empathetic, patient, consistent, compassionate, have an honest work ethic, and treat others with respect
Be at least 21 years of age
Internal applicants must be a Coach Counselor with no less than standard performance and at least 90 days of experience at Rite of Passage in a Coach Counselor or high Direct Care Position
Staff in this position must have completed Initial Qualifications Training (Tech 22) prior to placement in this position
External candidates must have 1 year prior experience working with at-risk youth in a similar position as a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care position with at-risk youth in a similar position as a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care position or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry
