Washoe County School District is seeking a Site Leader for their 21st Century Community Learning Center after-school programs. The role involves planning, coordinating, and directing all functions of the programs, including staff recruitment, program development, and community partnerships.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and represents Washoe County School District in conjunction with the District Program Coordinators and the designated school administrator at each school sites, designs and schedules a developmentally appropriate activities program including group settings which encourages positive relationships, self-control, and constructive conflict resolution techniques; supervises, plans, organizes, conducts, and participates in enrichment activities; encourages positive self-concepts, thinking, reasoning and questioning, enhanced physical development and cooperation; is responsible for parent/staff communication and information; coordinates field trips and weekend activities; acts as a liaison between the site staff and district program coordinator's office; in conjunction with the district program coordinator and site administrator, selects, supervises and supports site staff; prepares special projects as well as orders, issues and maintains all supplies and equipment for activities from program coordinators; inspects grounds and equipment for safety and proper operation; organizes and conducts training of all site staff; resolves parent/staff/student conflicts; maintains and prepares payroll for staff; coordinates on-site volunteers; and is responsible for the record keeping and distribution of daily snacks

Required

Equivalent to a two year degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis on education, business administration, management, or related field
Three (3) years of full-time experience coordinating and conducting in-school or after-school programs
Effective program management, budgeting and fund procurement, community organizations and businesses, parent involvement and family services, recreation, child development; educational experience that will improve school readiness for all young children
Managing and administering programs, organization, evaluating staff and programs, communicating effectively with schools and agencies, working with diverse cultures, participating in and effectively conducting meetings; problem solving; maintaining accurate records, organizing events and materials; making arrangements for special classes and workshops; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Valid CPR and First Aid certificate must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment
Must be willing and able to work a variable job schedule
