Operations Analyst – Engineering Services

The Operations Analyst provides essential financial, analytical, and procedural support to the Measurement, Automation, and Technical Services teams within the Engineering Services group. This role involves managing capital and G&A forecasting cycles, annual budget development, and performing data analysis to support leadership with actionable insights.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly Capital & G&A forecasting for Measurement, Automation, and Technical Services RCs, including data pulls, reconciliations, and uploads
Prepare monthly Capital & G&A variance analyses and consolidated financial reporting packages for Nat Gas Finance, FP&A, and Engineering Services leadership (VP & Directors)
Manage annual Capital & G&A budget development, including templates, timelines, consolidations, and leadership presentations
Submit and track monthly accruals and ensure compliance with SOX, audit, and accounting policies
Create and maintain AFEs and PRNs (change requests), including coding, documentation, routing, and approval coordination
Support procurement workflows, including RFM/RFS submissions, requisitions, PO setup, and invoice processing
Perform data analysis and maintain reporting tools, including dashboards, Power BI visuals, metric reports, and financial trend evaluations
Support efficiency related initiatives to help automate data integration, reporting, and analysis
Assist with project documentation and financial tracking, including reclasses, coding corrections, and audit support
Perform other ad hoc analysis, reporting, and operational support requests as needed for Measurement, Automation, and Technical Services leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or operations within the energy, utilities, or industrial sectors
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Familiarity with capital and G&A budgeting cycles, including accruals and reclasses
Knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and corporate financial controls
Exposure to AFE creation and PRN (change) processes in CARS or similar capital financial systems
Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams
Hands-on experience with financial systems and tools
Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities and evolving requirements
Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and exceptional attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel (pivot tables, formulas), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles
Ability to prepare accurate reports and analyses using data from financial systems and various sources
Must be self-motivated, demonstrate a high degree of initiative, and work effectively with minimal supervision once proficient
Flexible and able to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor with colleagues and stakeholders
Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements

Preferred

Advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus but not required
Familiarity with SQL or data query tools is a plus
