Responsibilities
Drive the development and implementation of a global tax policy strategy that aligns with AstraZeneca's business goals and values in key regions, including the U.S
Monitor and analyze tax policy developments, legislative changes, and trends. Evaluate their potential impact on AstraZeneca and craft proactive policy responses
Establish relationships with key partners, including government officials, industry associations, and policymakers. Represent AstraZeneca's tax interests in discussions and forums
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Government Affairs, and Corporate Affairs, to align tax policy initiatives with broader corporate strategies
Provide insights and strategic analysis on emerging tax issues to senior leadership, serving as a subject matter expert in US tax policy
Support AstraZeneca's compliance with relevant tax regulations and participate in managing risks associated with tax policy changes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in taxation, Law, Economics, or a related field
8+ years of experience in US tax law, with significant experience in tax advocacy or policy
Strong understanding of global tax policy frameworks and regulatory environments. In-depth knowledge of US federal, state and local tax regulations
Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills
Proven track record in tax advocacy and stakeholder engagement including representing companies in front of legislative bodies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at various organizational levels to diverse audiences
High level of integrity, professional judgment, and strategic thinking
Preferred
Master's degree or CPA preferred
10+ years of experience in US tax law, with significant experience in tax advocacy or policy
