Head of Finance and Accounting

Confidential Jobs is seeking a hands-on, strategic Corporate Finance & Accounting Manager to lead their general accounting function and financial reporting responsibilities. This role is designed as a fast-track development opportunity to advance to Director of Finance & Accounting based on performance and leadership capability.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for corporate and segment-level operations
Prepare reporting packages, variance explanations, and trend analysis for senior leadership and Global Corporate HQ
Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and alignment with internal standards and GAAP
Maintain dashboards, KPIs, and financial templates used across the Finance organization
Oversee the general accounting team responsible for month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet management, and fixed assets
Own and lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented results
Strengthen internal controls and ensure audit readiness at all times
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the close cycle and increase efficiency
Create, maintain, and enhance SOPs, workflows, checklists, and process documentation for all accounting and reporting activities
Establish standardized processes across business units to promote consistency, compliance, and scalability
Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Shared Services teams to adopt best practices and ensure alignment
Partner closely with business unit and corporate leaders across Finance and Operations
Support business leaders with financial insights, trend analysis, and reporting needs
Participate in financial systems improvements, data integrity initiatives, and cross-functional projects
Provide coaching and mentorship to the general accounting team
Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Demonstrate readiness for Director-level responsibilities through ownership, strategic thinking, and initiative

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls
Experience preparing financial reporting packages for senior leadership or global corporate teams
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain process documentation and SOPs
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Adaptive, Power BI, SAP, or similar systems a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to translate financial data into clear insights
Proven experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
