Assistant General Counsel and HIPAA Privacy Officer
The Missouri Department of Mental Health is seeking to fill a vacancy for an Assistant General Counsel position that will also serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer. Responsibilities
Review and analysis of HIPAA, BAAs, and Hi-Tech Certification
Preparation and submission of Fiscal Notes
Review and analysis of legislation and regulations
Research, review and drafting of various documents, including contracts, policies and advisory opinions relating to the Department
Review, analysis and assistance in promulgation of administrative rules and internal directives
Participation in numerous standing committees
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law
Current license to practice law in the State of Missouri
Two or more years of professional legal experience
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism
Preferred
Experience in administrative law
Experience in employment law
Experience in mental health or health care law
