Responsibilities
Perform independent credit risk assessment of credit proposals (including new request and/or periodic reviews) for accuracy and completeness and safeguard the New York branch credit underwriting in line with NBK’s policies and procedures and risk appetite
Ensure appropriate and sound risk rating recommendations and risk rating validation after Head Office final approval
Assist and backup Credit Risk Manager to coordinate and facilitate local Deal Committee and document the meeting minutes before further circulation to Head Office for clearance and/or approval
Perform routine and/or ad-hoc Credit Portfolio Analysis & Reviews and monitor portfolio concentration dashboard including all sector concentration thresholds based on the approved New York branch credit appetite
Proactively interact and maintain well working relationships with key NBK global counter parties including Head Office International Business Group and Internation Credit Committee members and constantly update related international credit policies & procedures and/or credit tool trainings when required
Conduct routine and/or ad-hoc credit risk related administration tasks
Successfully complete all assigned training, including HR, ISO, and BSA/AML/OFAC training and ensure adherence to all pertinent laws and regulations governing BSA/AML, CTF, OFAC and the USAPA, as well as all bank policy and procedures governing these topics
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree
5+ years' experience in credit risk, covered CRE, C&I, Project Finance, Subscription Financing, and Leverage Lending
Preferred
MBA or post graduate degree a plus
Formal credit training at a major financial institution is preferred
