Responsibilities
Work directly with portfolio company CFOs and Controllers to improve monthly close processes, financial reporting, and forecasting
Help standardize basic financial reporting packages and KPIs appropriate for smaller, growing businesses
Support portfolio companies in building and refining budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow models
Oversee portfolio-wide insurance, benefits, and HR programs by partnering with management teams, brokers, and external advisors to drive consistency, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation
Partner with finance teams on systems clean-up, ERP / accounting system upgrades, and reporting tools in resource-constrained environments
Act as a hands-on problem solver during periods of growth, transition, or stress
Support transaction activity including diligence, post-close clean-up, and integration
Help prepare board and lender reporting and improve financial communication
Share best practices and templates across the portfolio to increase consistency and efficiency
Serve as a senior escalation point for finance-related issues across portfolio companies
Contribute toward financial due diligence during acquisition processes
Support post-close integrations, including defining and tracking synergies and managing operational integrations with add-on acquisitions
Qualification
Required
8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, including exposure to private equity, transaction services, or senior operating finance roles
Experience working with smaller, entrepreneurial businesses ($10–50MM revenue preferred)
Strong grounding in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and FP&A
Comfortable rolling up sleeves in imperfect, evolving finance environments
Ability to influence and partner with management teams without formal authority
Willingness to travel to portfolio companies on semi-frequent basis
Strong communication skills and a practical, solution-oriented mindset
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or similar credential preferred but not required
