Electronics Technician

UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is seeking an entry level Electronics Technician to join their team in Crane, IN. The role involves identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting in the assembly and testing of electronic units.

Responsibilities

Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions
Calibrate and perform preventative maintenance
Read blueprints, schematics and engineering instructions of the assembly of electronic units
Assist in writing reports and recording data as it relates to testing techniques, laboratory equipment and specifications
Perform radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, fabrication of cable harnesses, and complete system testing using approved procedures
Work with other technicians in testing and repair of AN/SPS-67/SPS-73 radar system consoles and associated equipment
Communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleet
Provide troubleshooting assistance to the ISEA and US Navy
Maintain parts inventory in accordance with OM&S regulations
Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes
Repair, build, calibrate, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment
Inspect drawings and designs for quality control, report findings, and make recommendations to the lead engineer
Perform all manners of depot maintenance to specified Electronic Systems
Help build prototypes from rough sketches or plans, under the engineers’ direction
Assemble, test and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics
Adjust and replace defective circuitry and electronic components

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of zero (0) to two (2) years of professional experience; however, experience is crucial and therefore additional experience will be considered in lieu of any formal education
At least five years of experience in an electronics Technician and/or Maintenance role is required
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), High voltage training, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and associated training is required to perform the duties in designated work areas
Must possess or be able to obtain Fall Protection Training, Overhead Crane Certification, Forklift Certification
Must possess or be able to obtain solder certification to IPC requirements such as IPC J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721 or Miniature/Micro-miniature (2M) certification standards
Basic to intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location

Preferred

An Associate's or bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology is highly desired
SPS-73 experience preferred
Navy Electronics Experience highly desired
