Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of overhead and underground electric distribution facilities for projects such as voltage conversions, feeder extensions, automation upgrades, and DG interconnections
Interpret and apply client standards and safety regulations to generate and revise engineering documentation
Serve as a subject matter expert in the owner’s engineer role—reviewing, refining, and validating distribution design deliverables
Coordinate with internal teams and clients to manage project schedules, ensure QA/QC compliance, and drive on-time delivery across multiple active projects
Collaborate with vendors to review equipment specifications and help develop construction standards and design criteria
Provide construction planning and support, ensuring designs are executable and aligned with field realities
Evaluate designs for regulatory and planning compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement or innovation
Take initiative to support evolving client needs and business priorities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field
7+ years of relevant experience in utility, consulting, or engineering roles
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or ability to obtain on an expedited path
Solid experience with NESC and applicable codes; deep understanding of utility distribution systems
Strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex data sets and engineering documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Adobe Acrobat, and collaborative tools (Teams, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams
Attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
Preferred
Familiarity with distribution design software/tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PLS-CADD, O-Calc
