Development Services Technician

The role involves serving as the primary point of contact for the regulated community, assisting with permit applications, and maintaining departmental databases to ensure data accuracy.

Responsibilities
Issues vapor tightness certification decals and processes subcontractor registrations in accordance with program requirements
Serves as the primary point of contact for businesses, contractors, individuals, and government agencies, providing information and assistance online, in person, and by phone
Explains and guides customers through the County’s online permitting process and, account setup for various permit types and directs inquiries or complaints to the appropriate teams to ensure timely resolution
Performs administrative and front desk functions, such as answering and routing calls, managing voicemail, processing mail, maintaining organized filing systems, and supporting daily office operations
Maintains and updates departmental databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Supports continuous program improvement through the development, documentation, and optimization of standard operating procedures and workflows and provide backup assistance for DST Senior and DS Lead functions as needed
Qualification
Required
Two years of administrative and customer service experience
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Preferred
Associate's degree or higher
Experience with databases (including geographic data) and document review for regulatory compliance
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
Strong customer service and communication skills
