Oil and Gas Inspector

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking professionals experienced in the natural gas and oil sectors to join their Department of Environmental Protection. The Oil and Gas Inspector will monitor and ensure compliance with regulations related to oil and gas well operations, conducting inspections and investigations throughout the lifecycle of wells.

Responsibilities

Monitoring and compliance activities within a designated geographic area to enforce several key regulations
Conducting field inspections of oil and gas wells throughout their lifecycle, covering drilling, production, alteration, inactivity, and plugging phases
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, verifying the validity of permits, and confirming drilling locations specified in plat maps
Investigating spills or gas releases, consulting permits and well records, collecting samples and data as necessary, and documenting site conditions through photographs and videos
Completing and filing inspection reports, entering results into the eFACTS system, and sending copies to operators
Taking follow-up actions as needed to ensure compliance and inspecting proposed school sites for potential hazards related to active or abandoned oil and gas wells, pits, or equipment

Required

Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry
An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
