Responsibilities

Collaborates with Distribution Center Shift Leaders to identify all mail and secondary items for transfer to each assigned route location, prior to departure
Engages appropriate personnel upon arrival and executes all required transactions to the satisfaction of clinical and support staff present
Responds positively to requests for assistance from customers, employees and visitors, using clear and professional communication to facilitate problem resolution
Ensures all orders are fulfilled with accuracy, packaged for safe transport and loaded in accordance to meet the scheduled time for delivery
Ensures all supplies are stocked as needed and relocates any items that may have been misplaced into assigned bins. Ensures all secondary items for delivery, for example, RX, mail and lab, are collected and delivered
Provides support to maintain functionality of all electronic point of use equipment at each assigned site. Secures proper signatures for all designated, ¿chain of receipt¿ transactions manually or through use of hand-held device
Responds to and manages supply and equipment requests within established guidelines of the department
Documents and reports all related equipment issues in a timely manner for quick resolve, prior to next scheduled replenishment cycle
Completes Vehicle Safety Checklist prior to departure and reports any issues to management for proper resolution
Maintains and operates assigned fleet vehicles in accordance with all pertinent local and State of Texas DMV laws
Inspects existing onsite inventory to identify expiring products and replace with new product to ensure patient safety
Maintains acceptable and accurate levels for all items stocked at each assigned location by reviewing activity and facilitating changes as needed
Collects and returns all financial transactions for monies collected at Emergency Care Center sites and ensures safe transfer to revenue cycle/cashier as required
Responds to and manages supply and equipment requests within established guidelines of the department
Develops working knowledge of all ParEx, point of use equipment solutions and increases understanding of relative (ParVision) software applications to better support customer needs
Identifies and reports opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs or waste and improve service to our customers

Required

High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
Three years' experience working in a material handling/distribution environment
MHE HM - Houston Methodist Material Handling Equipment Certified (HM) -- (Two year renewal required) within 60 days
CDL-C - Class C CDL License (State) -- valid State of Texas, with no moving violations
Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
Sound knowledge of current logistics/material handling practices and procedures with a specific emphasis on order fulfillment and inventory control processes
Ability to use inventory point of use system
Critical thinking with the ability to offer practical solutions to relative issues for items managed
Ability to utilize technology proficiently

Preferred

Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
