Responsibilities
Provide advice, assistance, approval, and concurrence to the districts
Provide timely technical and procedural support to districts to deliver high-quality, cost-effective transportation projects
Devote time to major policy issues involving other agency participation and funds, project priorities, costs, schedules and programming, project and route controversies and litigation, alternative studies and courses of action, managed lanes and multi-modal considerations, project quality, and deliverables
Qualification
Required
Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
Experience: One year of transportation engineering experience as a senior level engineer in the California state service
One year of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent in level to a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service
Two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher in the California state service
Broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience, two years of which are equivalent in responsibility to the senior level engineer in the California state service
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management and project delivery processes
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in design and project engineering processes
Demonstrate ability to communicate and present recommendations and information through excellent oral and written communication skills and methods
Describe your experience and approach in establishing, maintaining and leveraging strong working relationships within Districts and the Department
