Senior Director Finance FP&A

The Senior Director of Finance FP&A will provide financial leadership and strategic insight, overseeing financial planning and analysis activities including budgeting, forecasting, and driving data-driven decision-making for General and Administrative departments.

Responsibilities

Design and direct core financial planning activities across the finance organization, including long-term strategic and financial planning, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting
Coordinate preparation of quarterly and ad hoc Board materials
Work with the Investor Relations team to develop quarterly and annual guidance frameworks
Own and architect financial models to support all corporate (G&A) functions (IT, HR, Finance, Real Estate, Legal, Marketing, Field Management, Executive, and Recycling), anticipating future business needs, scaling requirements, and strategic tradeoffs
Set the strategic direction and lead end-to-end ownership annual budgeting process for G&A functions, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, partnering with executives and department heads to set realistic financial targets
Oversee preparation of executive-level financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and forward-looking insights that inform decision-making
Proactively identify and champion cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements within G&A departments
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with G&A operations, surfacing risks early and influencing executive decision-making before issues materialize
Manage and mentor a team of finance managers and financial analysts, fostering their growth and development
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, anticipating questions and shaping the narrative around financial performance
Lead complex, cross-functional, and companywide initiatives from concept through execution, owning outcomes and ensuring financial insights directly influence strategic decisions
Manage and maintain the company’s financial planning systems and processes

Required

Strong excel and financial modeling skills
Working knowledge of financial systems (ERP, budgeting/planning/forecasting, etc.) and tools – experience with Dynamics AX and / or Cognos (or similar financial planning system), including implementation projects
Demonstrated supervisory, management and leadership skills
Demonstrated analytical skills and strong business acumen with ability to be detail oriented ensuring a reliable and credible work product
Strong understanding of financial statements and financial statement modeling including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows
Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) including the ability to manage multiple executive stakeholders and business partners
Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
Ability to make or influence decisions
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information
Experience implementing, managing, and configuring enterprise EMP platforms
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred
10+ years of experience in Finance or related field
5+ years managing people/teams
CPA, CTP, or CFA a plus
