Responsibilities

This position is intended for the Propulsion Plant Data Entry/Display Terminal (PP-DE/DT) team within the Control and Information Systems (CIS) section of Department E70 (Propulsion Plant Planning Yard)
This multidisciplinary team is responsible for lifecycle management of a commercial laptop system (the PP-DE/DT) used to support maintenance and operation of propulsion plant components and systems
This includes configuration management of all associated software (OS and combination of COTS and custom applications) and hardware (laptop, accessories, and interface cables)
The position may be responsible for manual software (acceptance) testing, problem solving (including troubleshooting of connected electrical and electromechanical systems), technical writing, and other efforts associated with the PP-DE/DT’s lifecycle management
This may include preparation and/or peer review of interdepartmental memos, liaison action request responses, testing documentation, process guides, etc
This position may occasionally communicate with the Navy, NNL, outside vendors, and frequently communicate with management/engineers across the PPPY and other NNS departments via email, phone, and meetings

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience
Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
