Aeronautical Engineer, Senior

Responsibilities
Work spacecraft plume contamination analysis using gas dynamics to model how plumes affect sensitive hardware, preventing mission failure by analyzing molecular transport, creating CFD/DSMC models, possibly selecting materials, and working across teams from design to launch, focusing on rarefied flows and contamination control
Support hypersonic aerodynamics where you will help develop aerodynamic databases and help define environments associated with thermal and pressure loads across all flight regimes
Qualification
Required
Hypersonic Aero/Thermal experience
DSMC analysis
Plume analysis
CFD Meshing – Pointwise preferred
CFD experience – Fluent, GASP, Cart3D, CBAERO, Star-CCM+ preferred
CFD Post-processing
Large dataset post-processing experience
Software development / programming experience (Fortran, C, Python, etc)
Integrated system level modeling and simulation
Linux experience
MS Office experience
Preferred
CFD Meshing – Pointwise
CFD experience – Fluent, GASP, Cart3D, CBAERO, Star-CCM+
