Activities Program Manager- Healthcare

Responsibilities
Support the Mission, Values and Vision of LifeSpire of Virginia
Responsible for oversight, leading and directing programs in healthcare/SNF
Leads and supervises the AL Program Coordinator, MC Program Coordinator and program assistants. Works directly with the AL Program Coordinator and MC Program Coordinator to provide quality programs to meet the cognitive, functional, spiritual and occupational needs of the residents
Implements programming on all levels of care as needed. Interacts daily with residents in each level of care
Develops and/or oversees the development of the programming calendars, newsletters, use of interactive programs (i.e. SMILE) and executes activities, events and trips for AL, MC and HC that meet the individual and community needs of the residents
Coordinates volunteer program including both resident and non-resident volunteers. Responsibilities include recruitment, training, scheduling and supervision of volunteers
Ensures interdepartmental coordination of all activities and events
Coordinates with other staff members relating to scheduling of events and use of facilities. Utilizes room reservation calendar for all activities space needs
Attends meetings as determined necessary by supervisor
Develops and maintains monthly staff scheduling for program staff in AL, MC and HC/SNF to best meet the needs of the residents. Schedules direct reports/program staff for mandatory in-services and trainings. Ensures compliance in Relias Learning
Evaluates and/or assists in evaluating all program team members annually
Manages/oversees the purchase of programming supplies and equipment; maintains inventory and storage
Maintains record of and compliance to monthly programming budget
Drives to programs when needed
Perform other duties as assigned in a prompt and cooperative fashion
Follows all personnel policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and subsequent publications and notices (including policies on breaks, meal periods, and PTO time)
Qualification
Required
At least 1 year of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years
Certification as dementia certified activity professionals or certified recreational therapists
Organizational and social skills
Ability to establish good rapport with senior adults
Ability to work independently
Previous computer experience and skills
Previous experience in senior living activities
Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
Knowledge of electronic medical records
Proficiency in desktop publishing or similar type program for design, development, and preparation of facility newsletter
Proficiency in supervision and effective management of programming staff
