Responsibilities

Providing health care to patients in the hospital and office setting
Working in consultation, cooperation, and coordination with multiple supervising physicians
Functioning according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Physician’s Assistants in the State of Texas
Inpatient rounding, inpatient consults, ED consults, call coverage, providing support in the OR, and conducting follow-up visits in the clinic

Required

Master's Degree
BSN, MSN, ANP, or PA licensed in the state of Texas
BSL
Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies
Thorough knowledge of patient triage, diagnosis and evidenced-based care
Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues
Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising
Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
Skill in problem solving
Skill in verbal and written communication
Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes
Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures
Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively
