Responsibilities
Own the overall technical architecture for enterprise-scale, multi-domain ServiceNow implementations
Design integrated solutions leveraging core ServiceNow platform capabilities rather than siloed module implementations
Establish architectural standards across CMDB and CSDM (v4+) design and governance
Integration patterns and data flows
Security, access control, and compliance frameworks
Ensure solutions are upgrade-safe, scalable, secure, and maintainable
Act as the primary technical authority for the ServiceNow platform across active engagements
Lead and mentor ServiceNow developers and technical leads by providing design guidance and technical direction
Conduct code and configuration reviews
Enforcing development and documentation standards
Make informed decisions on configure vs. customize, performance optimization, and reuse of platform capabilities
Architect and integrate solutions across multiple ServiceNow domains, including but not limited to: ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge), ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management), HRSD (Case & Knowledge Management, Employee Service Center), Legal Service Delivery (LSD) (Case, Contract, Matter Management), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) (Demand, Project, Resource, APM), Security Operations (SecOps) (IR, VR, SOAR integrations)
Ensure consistent platform behavior, data reuse, and reporting across modules
Partner with Project Managers, Engagement Leads, and Solution Architects to ensure successful execution
Support technically complex phases including: Architecture definition and design workshops, Discovery and backlog refinement, Integrations, data migration, and platform hardening, Go-live readiness and production stabilization
Identify technical risks early and recommend mitigation strategies
Act as ServiceNow Product Owner when required, including: Translating business requirements into platform-ready user stories, Prioritizing technical and functional backlog items, Leading backlog grooming and sprint refinement sessions, Serve as a trusted technical advisor to executive stakeholders, IT leadership, and business owners, Clearly communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Qualification
Required
7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow implementation experience
Proven experience leading highly technical, multi-module ServiceNow programs
Experience delivering integrated solutions across IT, HR, Legal, Security, and Operations domains
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – REQUIRED
One or more Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications: ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SPM, SecOps, or LSD - REQUIRED
Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform foundations, including: Tables, inheritance, and data modeling; ACLs, roles, and security design; Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts; Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, UI Builder; Strong expertise in: CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery design; REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server architecture; Performance Analytics and reporting strategy; Ability to architect solutions that balance out-of-box functionality with strategic customization
Strong technical decision-maker with the ability to lead through complexity
Comfortable challenging assumptions and guiding stakeholders toward best-practice solutions
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Proven ability to mentor technical teams and elevate overall delivery quality
Ability to switch between strategic architecture and hands-on problem solving
Preferred
Experience in public sector, regulated industries, or large enterprise environments strongly preferred but not required
ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) – PREFERRED
Agile, SAFe, Scrum Product Owner certifications – Nice to have
