Frederick Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the Continuing Education and Workforce Development Healthcare Careers Department. The role involves providing instruction for healthcare courses, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Conduct organized classes at the instructional level to meet the educational requirements stated in course descriptions and objectives
Develop engaging course content, including securing guest speakers for special topics
Facilitate Workplace Excellence Series modules using provided curriculum (for Foundations for Healthcare careers course)
Be available via email and phone throughout the week to answer student questions regarding classroom and/or online content
Evaluate the progress of each student; notify students of progress
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
Participate in appropriate professional development activities to assure currency in both discipline, knowledge and instructional methods

Healthcare experienceTeaching experienceBlackboard LMSPowerPointCultural sensitivityWorkplace Excellence Series CertificationCommunication skills

Required

Minimum 5 years' experience in professional or allied healthcare field
AA degree or higher

Preferred

Previous teaching experience (classroom or professional/corporate training)
Experience using Blackboard LMS and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Workplace Excellence Series Certified Facilitator
