Responsibilities

Design, simulate, and analyze optical systems and components for performance and reliability

Integrate optical solutions into electro-mechanical devices, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers

Perform optical testing, validation, and troubleshooting to meet design specifications

Contribute to process improvements, quality assurance, and workflow optimization for optical systems

Document design processes, test results, and maintain accurate engineering records

Stay current with emerging optical technologies and industry trends

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the team

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Proven experience in optical design, lens systems, imaging, or photonics applications

Proficiency with optical design and simulation software (ex: Zemax, Code V, LightTools)

Hands-on experience with optical testing equipment and metrology

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment

Preferred

Experience with electro-mechanical device integration, a plus

Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes for optical components, a plus

Leadership experience or mentoring junior engineers, a plus
