Research Technician II, Levi Lab

Responsibilities

Perform animal breeding, genotyping, handling, and surgical procedures
Conduct molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, RNA/DNA extraction, cloning, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and next-generation sequencing
Assist with advanced analytical methods such as flow cytometry and potentially mass spectrometry
Execute the full histology pipeline: tissue harvesting, embedding, sectioning, staining, and imaging via confocal microscopy
Maintain accurate, detailed records and ensure a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace
Analyze and interpret data using appropriate software and statistical tools
Collaborate closely with the PI and project leads; demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented laboratory culture
Engage in scientific communication, including weekly lab meetings, writing/reading groups, and contributing to manuscripts and presentations for conferences

Required

Bachelor's Degree With major coursework in field of assignment and no experience or
Two (2) years of college with emphasis in coursework in field of assignment or
High School Diploma or GED
No experience required with Bachelor's Degree or
2 years of laboratory experience at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with two (2) years of college or
4 years of laboratory experience including two years at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with High School Graduation/GED

Preferred

Prior experience in a molecular biology laboratory is strongly preferred
