Director of Sales & Business Development

Responsibilities

Achieve or exceed sales targets as established by Olander Company management
Expand relationships with existing Olander Company customers
Expand usage of products within existing product lines purchased
Expand usage to additional product lines distributed by The Olander Company
Maintain relationships with key decision makers
Develop new customers in emerging markets that align with the Company’s vision
Add and expand new product lines to Olander’s offerings
Provide the CEO with updates on opportunities in emerging markets
Involve CEO in bigger accounts when necessary
Identify 5 current key accounts annually with a focus on growing revenue within those targeted accounts
Act as an advocate for all customer requirements
Stay up to date on Fastener industry trends and enhance knowledge of Olander products and applications to better solve customer needs
Provide support to TSMs and ISR teams through joint calls, sales/product training and sales coverage when necessary
Identify and develop new top level strategic targeted accounts that the DSBD and the CEO can work on together
Be a representative of Olander at association meetings/conferences/trade shows to foster growth with customers and vendors when asked by the CEO
Provide updates to the Leadership Team and CEO for help/support of business development goals
Help establish a plan (with CEO) for annual trade show attendance
Manage the TSMs to generate leads and close new business with a focus on adding new customers to Olander’s portfolio to achieve revenue quotas
Coach/mentor the TSMs and manage their activity by tracking appropriate metrics
Direct the Managers of Inside Sales in the daily operations of the ISR teams ensuring that those managers are performing their job responsibilities effectively
Oversee Olander’s Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) product offering and VMI Team with goal of providing an industry leading VMI offering and growing our business in this segment annually
Participate in the annual review of the sales variable pay plans to ensure the sales team is incented properly to grow the business while being paid competitively, fairly and equitably

Required

Demonstrated success in previous outside sales and business development assignments
Seven+ years in positions of team leadership, with experience in managing sales quotas and team performance
Minimum five years' wholesale distribution experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal & written), as well as strong presentation skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage & track multiple priorities
Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments across the organization to accomplish team goals
Experience mentoring sales teams and working with/coaching less experienced members on selling, account management and customer relationship skills
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
Travel is required to customer sites and other Olander office locations
