Responsibilities

Help design and modify medical devices, instruments, or equipment using CAD software and mathematical models, focusing on mechanical aspects

Build, test, and evaluate prototypes, troubleshooting design issues for functionality and feasibility

Conduct experiments, analyze test data, and help develop test methods to ensure product safety and effectiveness

Learn about and assist with adhering to quality standards (like GMP) and regulatory requirements for medical devices

Work with senior engineers to develop innovative solutions

Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting biomedical equipment in clinical or lab settings:

Develop CAD models and drawings

Build mechanical assembly prototypes

Perform lab test and evaluations

Write test protocols and reports

Qualification

Required

Hands-on experience from coursework or projects using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and applying basic mechanical design principles

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills demonstrated through class projects, lab work, or internships, with the ability to interpret test data and troubleshoot design challenges

Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior at an accredited college or university

Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred

Pursuing a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
