Houston Engineering, Inc. is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of engineers through hands-on mentorship. The Civil Engineer Intern will engage in both fieldwork and office projects, assisting engineers with construction activities and various engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist with plan specifications and estimates as well as documenting construction activities

Work on survey crew and operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station

Perform work in a variety of software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, etc

Construction observation and data collection at different types of project sites

Assist with research, development and design of projects

Qualification

Required

Enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering program

Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions

Above average math and communication skills

Valid driver's license and availability for overnight travel
