Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources is a senior leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all HR functions, including compensation and benefits administration, staffing needs assessment, full cycle recruiting and hiring, employee training and development, performance management, and handling of disciplinary processes
Design and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with and support Sendero’s business objectives and growth
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ACA, etc.) and industry regulations
Oversee the performance appraisal and feedback process, helping managers set clear goals and development plans
Manage employee relations with professionalism and fairness – addressing issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions in line with company policy and legal standards
Ensure compensation and benefit programs are competitive and meet the needs of a top-tier workforce
Direct the recruitment strategy to attract and hire high-caliber talent
Conduct workforce planning and staffing needs assessments
Supervise onboarding and orientation programs that set new hires up for success and reflect Sendero’s culture and values
Champion Sendero’s family-oriented and collaborative culture
Implement HR practices that reinforce our core values of Trust, Respect, Honor, Service, Family in the workplace

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is highly desirable
Extensive experience in HR, including prior HR management/leadership roles, is required
Proven ability to oversee HR operations for an organization of 50 or more employees (mid-size company or larger)
Experience in the financial services or wealth management industry is required
In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and all core HR functions – compensation & benefits strategy, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, and employee relations
Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations (federal and state) and HR compliance requirements (e.g., EEOC reporting, FMLA administration, OSHA, etc.)
Exceptional supervisory and leadership abilities
Able to inspire and manage an HR team (and coach other managers) effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels of the organization
Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution, and analytical/problem-solving capabilities
Demonstrated experience in aligning HR initiatives with business goals
Able to think critically and strategically about the organization's needs and deliver HR solutions that drive performance and growth
Passion for fostering a positive workplace culture
Understands and embodies Sendero's core values – treating colleagues with trust and respect, honoring commitments, serving others, and prioritizing family and teamwork
Experience working in or cultivating a collaborative, values-driven, and engaging work environment is important

Preferred

Master's degree or MBA is a plus
Experience with ESOP or similar ownership/share plans is a plus for guiding our employee ownership initiatives
Familiarity with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) or similar employee ownership/share programs is a plus
Experience supporting a workforce of highly educated high-achieving professionals is beneficial
