Distribution Center Outbound Operations Manager

Confidential company is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Center Outbound Operations Manager to oversee e-commerce distribution center operations. This role involves managing outbound operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of Supervisors, Coordinators, and Leads to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) performance that exceeds customer expectations
Plan and allocate resources effectively, ensuring operational requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner
Manage labor and production planning and provide daily/weekly reporting to senior leadership
Foster a culture of safety, quality, customer satisfaction, associate engagement, and continuous improvement across the team
Serve as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders such as Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to address operational needs and ensure alignment with company goals
Enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards within the outbound operation
Act as a key point of contact for outbound logistics issues, providing advice and handling escalations
Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to boost efficiency and minimize costs
Ensure effective corrective actions are taken to address operational errors, with thorough documentation and compliance with SOPs and work instructions
Manage HR responsibilities including recruitment, retention, training, and development, while promoting equal opportunity
Provide ongoing performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and help develop the skills of team members to meet performance goals
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through teamwork, employee engagement, and clear communication
Use data-driven insights and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and make informed decisions
Collaborate with other departments such as Inbound, Quality (inventory control), and Customer Service to streamline operations and resolve challenges

Required

Bachelor's degree in business management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
5-7 years of management experience in a distribution center environment, with at least 3 years in outbound operations management
Strong knowledge of Distribution Center processes such as pick, pack, shipping dock operations, and cycle counting
Familiarity with Distribution Center 5S principles and safety standards
Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), with specific knowledge in outbound processes
Strong understanding of e-commerce distribution standards and best practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on associate engagement and team development
Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel, and a strong proficiency in technology
distribution center operations management: 5 years (Required)

Preferred

Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and emergency procedures
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
