Analyst, Quality Assurance - Receiving
Responsibilities
Receive valuable packages and ensure the documentation for each shipment and the physical items match
Open and inspect job bags, ensure there’s no empty flutes, weigh each piece and record information on vendor’s invoice, verify GIA Certs have been added to GEM, verify stock # stamp against paperwork and GEM, check Bill of Materials (quantity, metal fineness) in the GEM system, tag each piece, print and affix label to tags
Ensure the accuracy of merchandise received as well as moved out to QA and GA
Systematically record all incoming merchandise and reconcile against shipments
Handle and pack all jewelry and components for internal movement (place pieces into membrane boxes or wrap items in trans-wrap/pink bags, place internal package into a clear plastic job bag and apply coloured code identifier to outside of bag by product type)
Transfer job bags to GA WIP or QA WIP
Verify circulating stock to assure the tag corresponds the product
Match circulating stock to stock number and item description in Gem
Control the outflow of goods to meet regular scheduled processing times
Identify exceptions to standard process flow movement to improve team efficiencies
Report merchandise movement activity
Maintain movement records
Monitor packing supplies, request additional supplies as necessary with internal teams
Perform monthly physical inventory to ensure accountability of all merchandise in the receiving area; research and resolve any discrepancies
Enforce company-wide compliance, in accordance with applicable policies and procedures relating to property movement, working and storing of merchandise; and
Perform additional administrative duties as necessary
Qualification
Required
2 years related work experience, luxury retail preferred
Bachelor's degree
Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and associated documentation and materials
Must be team oriented and able to create strong relationships with all cross-functional teams
Proficient computer skills required, MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel)
Preferred
Graduate Gemologist, gemstone, jewelry and vault knowledge a plus
