Senior Product Manager – U.S. Elections, Reuters

Thomson Reuters is seeking a highly-skilled U.S. Election Expert to join their dynamic team ahead of the 2026 elections. Responsibilities

Research voting processes in individual counties and all 50 states and turn those into actionable requirements for processing the Vote Count. Must learn and understand the differences in how each state and county report votes on election night
Turn customer requirements into actionable application development and be familiar with requirement-gathering tools, JIRA or similar. Assist our engineers in understanding the details around the electoral process
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automated solutions for the ingestion of vote count
Work closely with editorial to build best-in-class graphics for vote count display
Design and/or provide input into testing and simulation procedures
Track project milestones against hard deadlines
Potential to manage 1-4 direct reports

Required

7+ years of product management experience
Experience working on prior elections and understanding the details of how elections work in the United States
Strong grasp of voting processes, collecting and publishing vote count
Familiarity with data feeds, delivery and file formats: XML, JSON, APIs and other current technologies
Familiarity with key election concepts such as 'swing states,' 'opinion polling,' 'voting patterns,' 'expected vote,' and the importance of vote types such as 'absentee, early-vote, mail-in' within a county or state
Willingness to dig in and do the work, not simply manage the work
Ability to work well under pressure and meet hard deadlines
Comfortable working across teams, including technical development, product designers, senior managers, and editorial

Hybrid role based in New York or Washington D.C. Fully remote will be considered for the right candidate with monthly or quarterly travel
Minimum B.S. or B.A. in related fields
