Research Analyst, Kinder Institute for Urban Research

This role involves data collection, analysis, and presentation of research findings, as well as mentoring student research assistants.

Responsibilities
Assists with research projects, including the design and planning of research questions, and collaborates in data collection and analysis, as well as in the dissemination and communication of findings
Identifies, locates, and obtains data and information necessary for conducting research projects
Uses quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies from the social sciences
Maintains and implements quality control standards for varying research projects
Facilitates planning, scheduling, execution, and completion of research projects
Runs statistical analyses using standard statistical methods and techniques
Codes and analyzes qualitative data to derive meaning from in-depth interviews or focus groups
Utilizes appropriate statistical software programs to conduct research
Verifies the accuracy and replicability of data analysis using scientific and numerical skills
Interprets and communicates research findings for various audiences and publications, including research briefs, journals, manuscripts, professional conferences, and data visualization graphics
Performs all other duties as assigned
Provides support for established research partnerships
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in public health, psychology, sociology, or other social science or related field and completion of a university-level course
2+ years of experience in the following: Data maintenance and analysis, Maintaining quality control standards, Quantitative methodology, Stata, SAS, or R
Knowledge of statistical software packages such as Stata, SAS, R, or HLM
Excellent analytical and research skills
Ability to build reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading
Excellent presentation skills
Preferred
Doctoral or Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in public health, psychology, sociology, or other social science or related field and one year of experience in the following: Data analysis, Quantitative methodology, SPSS, Stata, SAS, or R
Spanish-speaking is a plus
