Progressive Die and Tooling Design Engineer
SCHERDEL Sales & Technology, Inc. is a company that transforms concept into production-ready precision. The Progressive Die and Tooling Design Engineer will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and sales to design and produce tooling, manage CAD files, and mentor trainees.

Responsibilities
Engineer progressive tools and dies accurately and efficiently to company engineering specifications and agreed timelines
Produce 3D solid models for rendering, prototyping, and detailed 2D assemblies and component drawings
Create complete bills of materials, including recommended spare and wear items
Manage engineering CAD files in an organized, comprehensible structure
Participate in design reviews to clarify customer requirements, production constraints, and timing considerations
Deliver drawings for both customers and production personnel
Collaborate with Engineering to progress designs from concept through preliminary and detail phases
Generate preliminary die sketches, strip layouts, and detailed drawings that meet customer part and machine specifications while aligning with the original quote
Select standard components per company guidelines and ensure materials and components are ordered on time
Track, document, and communicate build progress as jobs move through the shop
Support prototype blank and fixture design as needed
Work in accordance with SCHERDEL’s quality and environmental systems and customer quality requirements
Provide guidance to trainees developing tool design skills
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or CAD design—or equivalent years of experience
Training through an accredited program and hands-on experience in tool and die design/engineering
Proficient with Windows, MS Office products, and Lotus Notes
Extensive CAD proficiency: Siemens NX and SolidWorks
Strong ability to read specs, blueprints/drawings, and technical data
3D modeling expertise required; solid understanding and application of geometric tolerancing
Willingness to travel internationally for training (including Germany and Mexico)
