Data Analytics Manager

Responsibilities

Manages a growing team of data analysts to provide excellent analytics, insights to our attorneys and clients, including managing the team’s processes and workflows to optimize output and communications to key stakeholders
Collaborates with attorneys, clients, and the team to deliver exceptional work product in a timely fashion
Leads and develops data analysts to advance Ogletree’s Data Analytics agenda and ensure high-quality output
Plans for and assigns work to analysts to ensure that deadlines are tracked and met
Reviews and analyzes output of analysts on the team to ensure it meets the expected level of quality for team work product
Supports the Director of Data Analytics to develop a strategy for growth in the areas of data analytics related to matter and practice insights
Provides insights and analysis based on client and internal data housed in various source systems (i.e., SQL, Aderant, Interaction (CRM), UltiPro, CompuLaw, etc.)
Supports key analytics assignments, when appropriate
Creates data visualizations that accurately and effectively communicate insights
Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field or a Bachelor's degree in another field and equivalent work experience in a quantitative capacity – Master's degree preferred
10+ years of law firm experience (labor and employment experience preferred)
Prior experience managing a team, preferably of data analysts
Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst providing support for employment matters or litigation with growing responsibilities
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining and segmentation techniques, as well as familiarity with SQL queries
Project management experience, preferably in an Agile environment
Experience extracting, analyzing, cleaning, and interpreting client data in a variety of forms
Experience generating and evaluating analyses based on a variety of underlying damages models or client requirements
Expert-level Excel skills and familiarity with MS Office suite
Demonstrated experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc.)
Experience with advanced analytic technologies (predictive, data lakes, big data, etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interact with attorneys and clients and take on a prominent role related to data and associated workflows
Ability to explain complicated analysis and processes in terms that are understandable to non-experts, both orally and in writing
Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization platforms
Possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective working relationships
Strong attention to both detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and efficiently under time constraints and be able to thrive within the firm's highly dynamic environment
Team player, customer service focused, and adept at multi-tasking and prioritization
Initiative and problem-solving abilities with a focus on building it better and continuous improvement
Keen interest in technology and innovation, and ability to quickly learn new platforms
