Victim Witness Customer Service Representative
Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Victim Witness Customer Service Representative to provide direct assistance to victims of crimes. The role involves greeting clients, providing information on services, and assisting with various administrative tasks.
Law Enforcement
Responsibilities
Greet and assist walk-in clients
Provide general information on Victim/Witness Program services
Provide referral to various service providers
Process victims’ applications to Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund
Research and resolve victims’ issues with court-ordered restitution
Research and process forensic billings
Perform a variety of office support tasks (e.g. data entry, filing, copying)
Perform other work as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
One year of direct customer service experience
Equivalent combination of training and experience
Basic working knowledge of the criminal justice system
Considerable skill in verbal and written communication
Ability to operate a personal computer and related standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel)
Ability to deal calmly with highly emotional or stressful situations
Ability to interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages
Pre-employment drug testing
FBI criminal background check
Education/degree verification
Successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check
Preferred
Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish
