Gateway ATCS Thermal Analysis Engineer

They are seeking a Gateway ATCS Thermal Analysis Engineer to develop and maintain thermal models, perform thermal analyses for spacecraft components, and collaborate with design teams on thermal control strategies.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain high-fidelity thermal models using tools such as Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT
Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft components and integrated systems
Evaluate thermal performance under various mission phases, including launch, transit, lunar orbit, and quiescent modes
Support thermal verification activities, including test planning, data analysis, and model correlation
Collaborate with design teams to optimize thermal control strategies (e.g., pumps and valves, coolant loops, cold plates, heat exchangers, sublimators, and radiators) and provide guidance on thermal considerations
Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and anomaly investigations
Document analysis results and present findings to internal stakeholders and NASA customers
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Experience in the design, analysis, testing, certification, and operation of space ATCS systems and components, which may include but not be limited to pumps and valves, coolant loops, cold plates, heat exchangers, sublimators, radiators, and heat exchangers during pre-launch, flight, and post-landing phases
Proven experience in thermal analysis and design for aerospace systems. Experience with Thermal Desktop or similar thermal analysis tools is highly desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
Preferred
BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of two (2) years of direct engineering experience
Familiar with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures
The ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process
