Student Development Specialist, Sr.

Responsibilities

Administer individualized student assessments to at-risk students enrolled in introductory mathematics courses, analyze assessment and performance data, and utilize data to effectively employ ongoing professional academic coaching methodologies and other strategies to equip students with enhanced non-cognitive skills leading to increased academic success and retention
Collect and analyze a variety of data, monitor student academic performance, collaborate with other team members to develop and deliver workshops and small group activities on issues related to academic success
Collaborate and coordinate with other college services and programs to foster a supportive and informed cross-functional approach to student support, and to model ethical behaviors

Required

Master's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience
At least 2 years full-time professional-level experience working in academic support service programs as an academic coach, academic or career advisor, or other roles in higher education, non-profit, or a community services organization
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to collect and analyze a variety of data
Ability to monitor student academic performance
Ability to collaborate with other team members to develop and deliver workshops and small group activities
Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other college services and programs to foster a supportive and informed cross-functional approach to student support
Understanding and sensitivity to the multicultural differences/needs of students
Experience providing coaching and/or counseling to low-income, first-generation, academically under-served, under-prepared students in a post-secondary setting
Computer skills and experience with educational technologies, learning software, and online assessment tools such as Blumen, Banner, or other student database systems
Willingness to work with others
Ability to complete on-the-job training
Perform other duties as assigned or required
